Explore Some of the Scariest Haunted Houses in Houston

The spooky season has begun, and Houston has some of the scariest haunted houses in the state. We've chosen our favorites and they are all just minutes from our Houston apartments. Take a look and then go have some spooky fun! But be warned, some of these haunted houses will bring your nightmares to life.

13th Floor Haunted House

The 13th Floor is insanely terrifying, with its multiple haunted attractions. Dead In The Water and Bad Blood are scary enough, but just wait until you see The Dollmaker this year. They also have their Mini Escape Games, which are fully interactive. Then there's the Zombie Apocalypse, where you get to shoot the "zombies" with 700 rounds. This place is a ton of scary fun! It's best to get your tickets online because they sell out fast. They are open the last 2 weekends in September and most days in October.

Phobia Haunted Houses

This one's set up a little differently. Phobia has 8 spooky attractions, but 3 of them are part of the Exile Triple Attraction and are included in one ticket price. The other 5 are freestanding attractions with separate tickets, so you can choose your terror of the evening. Make your choice between Dawn of the Machine, Mind Control, Genetic Nightmare, Clown Mania, and the Darke Institute. Their grand opening is September 25th, through the first weekend of November. You can get your tickets online or at the front booth.

Creepy Hollow Haunted House

If you're up for a bit of a drive, Creepy Hollow is the place you want to be. In between Dark Woods and Pitch Black, the genetic mutations and flesh-eating zombies will have you screaming in terror. You'll have to be really brave to make it inside the 288 Scare Factory. Opening night is September 24th, they're open every weekend until November 6th, and a ticket covers all 3 attractions. You won't want to miss this one!

So if you're in the mood for a good scare, check out these local haunted houses in Houston. And on your way home, you can stop by one of these amazing food trucks and grab a bite to eat.
